Shona sculpture is the name given to a modern movement of stone carved sculpture created in Zimbabwe. It gets its name from the 'Shona' tribe of people (actually a mixture of many similar tribes with closely related language and culture) who are the largest in Zimbabwe.

My Beautiful Home Project aims to encourage the cultural practice of decorating traditional huts using the same craft that has been practiced for hundreds of years. This project takes place in Matobo in south-west Zimbabwe outside the city of Bulawayo.

These extra large round baskets are hand woven with Ilala Palm and look beautiful as a natural display or make a stunning feature when wall mounted.
Ilala palm is indigenous to Zimbabwe and grown in dry and sandy areas.

For the Shona people of Zimbabwe, traditional cloths (machira) are very often linked to spirituality and connectedness to one’s ancestors. The most well known of these fabrics is Jira reRetso.
